This is a list of (mostly free) games and mods that I want to shine light on or just think you should play.
The list consist of mostly indie games but I may add some larger ones as well.

Cave Story
Dōkutsu Monogatari

As you can tell by the theme of this page, I obviously love cave story. The father of modern indie games has been one of my favorite experiences with games since I was a little kid. Even though its only 6 hours long I've spent a lot more time with it than that (mostly trying to beat hell).

Cave story also has an amazing modding community many of which are basically their own seperate games, theres many prequel and seqeul games as well. Those are my favs.

~ EVERGREEN ~

Evergreen is proabably one of the best cave story mods I've played. definiteley worth a try after beating cave story.

Bomb Rush Cyberfunk

My first impression with this game was curiosity with slight boredom. I bought it for pretty cheap and it lacked the pristine graphics of 2023 games, going for minimal polygon usage instead. The gameplay was simple, somewhat easy even. The story was palatable but not necessarily unique, and the message encouraged rebellion against authority, the dangers of technology, and finding identity, not uncommon in the games I played growing up. Bomb Rush Cyberfunk looked unremarkable and lackluster, but when I finally had it in my hands it did not feel lackluster by any means.

Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is a game that destroyed my initial impression of it and was anything but mundane. This game was a rollercoaster of addicting fun and rebellious spirit. Bringing together the best of all the media that inspired it, creating a love letter to 2000’s games and 80’s counterculture. Discovering the mystery of Red and Felix kept me engaged in between gameplay sessions and I became attached to the beloved characters following me, all accompanied by funk beats with no breaks. Team Reptile was able to recycle a previously thought dead genre in a way that kept players and developers satisfied.
